Under Islam, it is believed that for an unmarried woman to show her hair to a man (that is why they wear the scarfs) wouldn't it be better if unmarried woman shave their heads until they are engaged to be married. Once they are engaged, then they can start growing it back.

This would serve several purposes, it would reduce the amount of lust (a sin) and it would ensure that a repectable time passes between engagement and marriage.

Also, if a man were to discover a woman with hair, he would know right away that she was either married or engaged so he would know to divert his eyes and not lust after her.

If a man saw a woman with a shaved head, he would know that she was "available" for marriage and there would be less chance that he would lust after her before their marriage.

Then woman would not have to wear scarfs all the time and would enjoy more equality with men.

dude i think people who go to that extreme needs to learn that this world is dynamic but there is a need to have some comman sense.

they should starve to death because killing one's own self is a sin but killing killing others in name of religion is not because it can always be classified as honor killling or killing in the name of god.

First: I think veil had a meaning in dry, sandy and windy places (protect hair and body of people). -Personally checked-.

Second: "Erotic" life in Islam (and I guess it is related to "upper classes" ...), is something important. So no men would marry a woman without long, curly, beautiful, soft, and so on hair.

Third: ... it looks that it is much more "exciting" to "discover" than "having everything "ready to be used" under your eyes". (I mean: men prefer to take off veils of a veiled woman, instead to match up with a woman who "shows everything" of herself).

It is a sin to do alot of things in the world, lets not harp on women who dont cover there hair, worry about ourselves first. But Anyways, if you are a Christian here is the answer for you it says in Chorintians it is better for you ( talking to a women) to cover your beauty and if it is a shame to cover your beauty it is better to shave your head and if it is a shame to have a shaven head it is better for you to cover your beauty.......lots of christain women wear scarfs, Amish, Catholic, Evangalistic Christians, Protestants, in AMerica not only that many people out side of AMerica wear scarfs in other countries. Its a peice of cloth. Not a big deal. Anyways. If you sin ask for forgiveness and it is better to worry about yourself first. I know I can put anyone else in heaven or hell. so I worry about my self.
