Yup. I used it and I have black hair. Although it didn't turn out that exact colour (it was darker) I still liked the results!

On the back of the box it usually has a guide to what colour it will come out depending on your colour.

I totally depends on what color you are starting with. Also the strength of the developer, how long its left on, how you apply it and how many stars are in the sky. These are CHEMICALS people. It's totally impossible to predict what your results will be from here..
